dice-play How to play...

Ricochet

This is a casino's gambling dice game, played with three dice, stakes, and a layout set on a table, for any number of players.  There are a large range of bets available on the layout, with some settled in one roll of the dice, and others settled by more.  Like Roulette, players may place bets on groups of betting spaces on the layout.

Play:

The player rolling the dice is known as the shooter and the shooter rolls the dice, and continues to roll the dice, until one of the following combinations is made:

  • 126, 136, 146, 156, 111, 666    (These combinations may also be remembered as a 1 and 6 with any other differing number, or three-1s, or three-6s.)

Once the shooter rolls one of the specified combinations, the next player becomes the new shooter, the House settles any bet decisions, and play continues as described below.

Players place their bets on the layout, the shooter rolls the dice, and the House pays-off accordingly on any winning bets while collecting any losing bets.  The many betting spaces available on the table layout are all described by the subsequent text.

A great part of the layout is made-up of all thirty combinations of a pair and a single.  Fourteen of these are marked in black and fourteen are marked in green.

Place Bets - These bets win if the specified dice combination is rolled before the shooter throws one of the roll-ending combinations.

  • Straight Up: A bet placed on any one of the thirty pair combinations on the layout.
  • Split: A bet placed on any two adjoining pair combinations on the layout.
  • Corner: A bet placed on any four adjoining pair combinations on the layout.

Single Roll Bets - These bets win if the specified dice combination is rolled by the shooter with their subsequent roll.

  • Any Column: A bet covering six of the Straight Up combinations in a vertical column on the layout.
  • Two Rows: A bet covering ten of the Straight Up combinations in two horizontal rows on the layout.
  • Any Black: A bet covering all fourteen black Straight Up combinations on the layout.

  • Any Three-of-a-Kind: A bet on any three-of-a-kind.
